A few select projects
Throughout the design process we creatively challenge clients and site users, attempting to identify cultural, historical and educational elements appropriate to the project, always exploring how a site's potential may be realized in its landscape design. Examples include creating safe, quiet, private places within a dense urban community; enhancing the natural environment and existing surroundings; incorporating indigenous materials whenever possible; and minimizing site maintenance expenses.
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
Great design is transparent.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
The awesome folks that make it all work
A founding partner of Keller Mitchell, Jacque has been practicing Landscape Architecture for 40 years. Her responsibilities include business development, client relations, scheduling and sustainability. She has served as Principal-in-Charge of many of the firm’s major projects and guides the firm’s growth, striving to bring ever more challenging and engaging work to the firm.
In her free time Jacque can be found at Heath Ceramics developing another epic mosaic project or swimming in nearly any nearby body of water (including the bay!).
A founding principal of the firm, Jerry is responsible for all elements of design across the entire spectrum of Keller Mitchell’s project types. In addition, he provides the firm’s quality control and is the firm’s primary IT specialist. His 50+ years of experience renders Jerry an incredibly valuable resource for the firm, our clients and our consultants.
In his spare time, Jerry enjoys reading computer updates (really!), feeding feral kitties, cooking salmon 101 ways and watching golf—either live at Pebble Beach or on TV.
Amy has practiced landscape architecture for more than 15 years throughout the western U.S. and beyond, completing a variety of projects ranging in size and scale from community development and civic centers to neighborhood parks, streetscapes and schools. As an Associate Principal of the firm, she is responsible for project design, construction documentation and construction administration.
Outside of work hours, Amy can be found at 5 a.m. boot camp, tending to her prolific organic garden, in the kitchen making something yummy or running with her children.
Since joining the firm in 2007, Sarah has provided well-rounded expertise across a range of arenas. She spends a fair amount of time in the field during construction and is the firm’s point person when it comes to researching, evaluating and selecting plant materials for our projects. As a project manager, Sarah is also responsible for project design, detail design and construction administration. She boasts a keen eye for design and a dedication to detail.
Away from the office, Sarah enjoys hiking every stairway in San Francisco, standing on her head at yoga class, backpacking, biking to work, snow skiing (when there’s snow in California!) and traveling.
Carolyn serves as Controller and Director of Accounting and Administration. Since joining Keller Mitchell in 1998, Carolyn has worn many hats thanks to her broad background in both accounting and business administration. Her detailed attention to numbers keeps the firm and its projects on the straight and narrow.
During her free time, Carolyn can be found on her bike circling her neighborhood, walking her dog, hugging her grandson, watching the 49ers or Giants, or feeding the homeless.
One of Chelsea's most valuable contributions to the office is providing her colleagues with a healthy excuse to take a walk to Blue Bottle in exchange for a dog cookie or a fancy bully stick.
Rocky is the newest addition to the firm. Every morning without fail, Rocky and Chelsea chase each other around the office in figure-eights. After about 10 minutes, they're both exhausted, and we're all happily entertained.
WE WORK CLOSELY AS A TEAM, HAVE A FLAT HIERARCHY;
SHARE, COMMUNICATE AND BRAINSTORM CONTINUOUSLY.
